Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is person-centered, which means I prioritize creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where you are fully seen and heard. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and that you are fundamentally whole already. I offer tools and guidance to help you reconnect with your own lived experience, your body’s wisdom, and your mind’s innate capacity for healing. I also believe laughter and playfulness is healing medicine, helping us not take this strange reality—and our “selves”—too seriously. So, alongside working through the tough stuff, my clients and I laugh...a lot.

In my work, I integrate mindful and somatic practices rooted in Buddhism, alongside Hakomi Method-informed practices, which focus on the body’s role in healing. These modalities help us explore your experiences with curiosity and non-judgment, fostering radical self-compassion and awareness in the present moment. Additionally, I draw on skills training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a skill-based approach founded by Zen Master Marsha Linehan, designed to support individuals in managing intense emotions and learning emotional regulation. While I have received training in Hakomi Method and DBT, I have not completed full certification in either modality.

I also have foundational and advanced training in Flash Technique, a trauma treatment approach that uses bilateral stimulation (such as left-right tapping) to help clients process traumatic memories more rapidly and with less emotional distress than other trauma treatments. This method enables the reprocessing of memories, reducing their emotional charge and helping clients feel less distressed when recalling traumatic events.

I am deeply committed to creating an inclusive, affirming space for people of all identities. I welcome and support individuals from LGBTQIA+ communities, consensually non-monogamous relationships, and people of diverse racial, ethnic, and spiritual backgrounds. I believe in honoring the unique experiences of each individual and providing a space where all beings are respected and celebrated.

Therapy for Grief and Loss

Grief and loss are universal experiences that touch us all, yet they can feel deeply isolating. In therapy, you will be supported in navigating the complex emotions and changes that come with loss, through a lens that honors the gifts and beauty of what was and continues to be. Whether you are experiencing loss of a relationship, loved one, life phase, or are experiencing existential grief related to the state of our society and the Earth, therapy can help. From a Buddhist perspective, we recognize that everything is in constant flux, and that even in loss, there is an opportunity for transformation and growth. Together, we will explore how to gently hold the pain of grief while also embracing the wisdom of interconnectedness, helping you find meaning in the face of change.

Therapy for Relationship Challenges

Relationships offer a powerful pathway to learn more deeply about ourselves—our needs, boundaries, and the edges we are still learning to navigate. In therapy, we’ll explore how attachment patterns, family of origin dynamics, learned responses, and feelings of safety influence the way we relate. Together, we’ll work to empower you to confidently own your role in relationship dynamics, using tools to cultivate connections grounded in mutual respect and authentic understanding.

Spiritually Based Counseling

Spirituality can be a profound source of guidance and strength, whether you follow a particular religious tradition or are exploring a path of your own. In spiritually based counseling from a Buddhist lens, I offer support in cultivating clarity and understanding of your true nature, helping you navigate life’s challenges with wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness. Buddhism is not meant to replace your root religion (if you don’t practice Buddhism) but can complement it by offering tools to see reality more clearly, recognize our interdependence, and find meaning and direction in your spiritual journey. Together, we can explore how these teachings can support your growth and deepen your sense of peace and purpose.

Flash Technique for Trauma

Flash Technique is a powerful, trauma-focused therapy designed to help individuals process distressing memories with minimal emotional discomfort. This technique, which is often used as part of trauma therapy, involves rapidly stimulating both sides of the brain to help reprocess traumatic memories, similar to the bilateral stimulation used in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). However, Flash Technique differs by helping clients process trauma without needing to focus on or re-live the painful memory itself. It is often experienced as a less intrusive method compared to other trauma therapies, allowing for greater emotional safety and quicker processing. Many clients report feeling lighter and more at ease after sessions. If you are looking for a compassionate and effective way to process trauma without becoming overwhelmed by intense emotions, Flash Technique may be an excellent fit for you. To learn more about Flash Technique and its applications in trauma therapy, read more on the official Flash Technique website.
